Chapter 9- View to death

Jack's Journal;

It's Ralph's fault. Poor Simon. All he was doing was giving out some knews. Too bad we all had Painted faces. He came at the wrong moment. It was an accident. I was this close to taking all of Ralphs group. Simon interrupted. Simon was looking for Ralph and Piggy who actually came to my feast. If it anyones fault it is Ralph's. He should have been on the side that Simon thought he was. He left his precious fire, and one of his friends. After all he only has had 2 on this island. Piggy and Simon. Simon was an easy target, and in the dark he looked like the sow we had killed in the jungle. I mistaked Simon, but it wasn't me who gutted him and tortured him to die.... it was the others. I there chief was just watching. Ralph and Piggy how ever seemed to enjoy the game. I could almost see Ralph trying to repeat the chant inside his head. Same goes for Piggy.

In the end I knew it would be me who was chief. And since the beggining I knew we would be stuck here for along time. Some of us have gotten a bit barmy and batty. Simon was one of the crackers. He came here saying there wasn't a beast. Is he nuts. We've all been this close to death. Ralph, Roger and I could have easily been attacked at the moment we saw it laying on the mountain. Simon just couldn't stand the fact that I was taking Ralphs group. You see if I took Ralphs group then Piggy and Simon were to be miserable. Ralph is already giving up. Simon sacrificed himself for nothing.

Simon. Kill the pig. Cut his throat. Spill his blood. He was going to die anyway wasn't he. Aren't we all soon. I bet Piggy is next. I wonder why that Fatty and his boss even came to my feast. If they hadn't come Simon would have ben safe. I know. Thatas what your team gets when you have a bad leader. Ralph has made several people o n this island die. When he was leader Johhny died and Percival, and Simon now too. Its all the ones who are on his group. He isn't a good leader. HE is a fake, a coward, and causes death. I am the Lord..... he, Ralph is nothin but a fly with friends who don't really want him as leader. I'd call them traitors.. but hey aren't we all.

Simon is dead. There is nothing I can do now. But I can blame Ralph and none else. Afterall I do have reasons why. HE wasn't at his area. He left Simon to wonder off on his own... didn't even go look for him after he realized he was gone, etc. Many other unnescesary reasons. Rest on this island Simon, Johnny and even Percival.
